Furthermore, there is definitely a problem with overpopulation. According to the census there is 4.16 people per household in El Monte. However, the reality is that this number is greater because there are those who do not report to the census. In addition this number which is more like 6 people per household unit should be compared to the fact that most of the living units are 1 or 2 bedroom apts.

Instead of creating better housing accommodations for its citizens, El Monte, or whoever is in charge of the land development, has made the wrong decision in building condominiums instead of building apartment units. Apartment units in this case would clearly be more beneficial to the residents of the El Monte Community because it would house them better. However, X people who are in charge of making this decision for El Monte are more concerned in trying to make more profit. How? By building up the property value of housing in El Monte by building expensive and luxurious looking units in the middle of a “brought-down” community. At what cost do they do this? At the cost of the residents, of course! The residents of El Monte are the ones that are paying the consequences for this. Once again I emphasize the fact that because the residents can no longer afford the housing units in El Monte, they are forced outside of the city.

I hate to think of what become of El Monte in 20 years, or maybe even 10 years, if this progress continues. I’ve been living in El Monte now for 11 years and in the same place and the apartment unit price has increased somewhat for us, but we are the exception. I’ve seen as the years have progressed more and more people have had to move out because they simply could not afford it. Most of them now live in places such as San Bernardino or Riverside where housing prices are cheaper. There exists only a small percent of people who have still remained in El Monte, but slowly this number is dwindling down. El Monte will probably be inhibited by new people that I won’t even recognize. It will turn into a different culture.

ARGH!!! Why can’t people think about what they do? C’MON!!! NOBODY lives in those McMansion CONDOS!!! I’ve passed through them and they’re empty… EMPTY!!! why? nobody can afford them…. -_-” If they were to have built apartament units it can almost be secured that they will have been … wait almost? … no absolutely secure that they will have been inhibited and been of more use to the residents of El Monte.
